Fire Fundamentals-Build a Better Fire

It’s hard to think of a camping trip without a fire involved, in fact, I have taken excursions to the forest specifically to have a fire! Yet, there can be an aura of mystery surrounding fire starting and maintenance. We know a fire needs Oxygen, Fuel, and Ignition in order to happen and be sustained, but… how?

Demystifying fire building is what this class is all about. By breaking down the process of building a fire into the building block steps we can take a logical approach and learn to really “think” fire and gain familiarity with the foundations equipping us to invite fire into our lives.

this course will cover:

-Fire builds and lays

-Where the dry wood lives and the best woods to work with

-Some unusual yet versatile fire setups like the “Fire Hole” “Hunters Fire” and more

-One Match fire challenge

-Ferro rod, and flint and steel fire starting

Class size: 20

Cost: 40
